Fomo (fear of missing out) in gatcha games is often what drives pulling into pulling for certain characters. The slow progression of the early game in Honkai Star Rail is what is probably preventing you from clearing Memory of Chaos: the amount of energy it takes to level up, ascend and equip a single character is ludicrous...let alone 8! The level of characters in HSR influences a lot of things in the game, so if you feel frustrated about the lack of progress just focus on XP materials. I was stuck at a MoC stage and just leveling up some of my characters a bit allowed me to get full stars on the 1st try.
