Where is Snoopy, the long lost Apollo Lunar Lander?
On May 18, 1969, NASA sent Apollo 10 to the Moon, not to land, but to make sure everything was ready for the Apollo 11 landing. A few days later, it orbited the Moon, and then 2 of the astronauts boarded the LM, nicknamed Snoopy, to descend close to the surface. While this spacecraft could not land on the Moon, they were very close. At the end of the mission, the ground controllers fired the engines of the ascent stage of Snoopy, sending it on a course to deep space. It is the only spacecraft that has had humans in it, and remains in space without any humans on board today.
