The real question is how to learn java and which is the best java book for java tutorials and my answer is Big Java. So here is a short story how I fell in love with the Big Java book written by Cay S. Horstmann. I start learning the real java coding with Big Java: Programming and Practice book which was released back in 2001 and we today have many update editions of Big Java.
Back in 2005 we did have much of online Java tutorial and we have to rely on books. I read a lot of Java books but many of them was hard to understand and Big Java is a $100 book but it tech you java the right way.

I will say learn Java programming for beginners with Big Java but if you can't afford the Big Java, Binder Ready Version: Early Objects than grab a used Head First Java book from Amazon or eBay which is the second best java book. At the end you are tired of searching on google "how to learn java" but now your wait is over with the above mention books.
If you are a video learn than you can take some video Java 101 courses on TeamTreeHouse which offer good Basic java courses.
You can't learn Java in 4 Hours but you can learn Java in 30 days if you follow the Big Java book chapter and code java every day.
