Subsistence Crisis:- It refers to an extreme situation where the basic means of livelihood are endangered.
Factors respensible for the Subristence crisis:-
(1) The population of France rose from 23 million in 1715 to 28 million in 1789. This led to increase in demand for foodgrains.
(2) Prices of food grains increase rapidly that it became unaffordable for many people to buy these product as their wages could not pace with the price of bread.
Hi (3) Hense gap between the poor and rich widened.
