As we approach the impending release of DOOM Eternal, over the past couple of weeks, we've been looking back over the events of its predecessor and recapping its story and backstory bit by bit. We've covered some of the most important characters already, but there is one character in particular who does have a pretty important role to play – and will only grow in prominence, based on what we've seen of Eternal so far – that we haven't yet covered.

That character is VEGA, the autonomous AI who assists the Doom Slayer on his quest to fight back against the invasion of Hell on Mars. Here, that's who we will be talking about- and as always, we'll start at the very beginning.
