Why are companies allergic to giving raises?
86I will truly never understand why companies are so unwilling to give their top performers raises! The worst is when you tell them you will quit if they don't pay you properly and yet they are still shocked when you quit after they refuse! Why are companies allergic to raises? They refuse to give you a 10% raise but end up paying your replacement 30% more….it just feel like bad business? Are they hoping most people will be loyal and not leave? I feel like you need to job hop every 3-5 years now to actually continue making more money which is ridiculous. I have friends + family in many different industries and it seems to be a problem in all of them!
