Since the day they first flew, airplanes have become synonymous with fast and efficient transportation. Decade after decade, faster and larger airplanes have taken to the skies and revolutionized the way we travel. Speed reached its peak in 1969, the year the world's fastest passenger plane, the Concorde, took off for the first time. But time passed, and the Concorde was retired and ceased to fly. It seems that airplanes have stood still in time, at least regarding speed. But is that really the case?
