Don't get me wrong, I had fun with Mortal Kombat 1 recently. I bought it as part of the holiday game sales, and I don't regret the purchase. But why have I begun to feel like MK and NetherRealm Studios are deliberately choosing not to innovate their greatest franchise? No offense, but it's almost become the Madden or Call of Duty of the fighting genre, iterative but not innovative.
