I thought I'd start a little series of shorter videos talking about why I like particular characters from The Lord Of The Rings movies, books, and the Strategy Battle Game. One of my favourite characters is Gamling, the loyal right hand of Theoden in The Two Towers and The Return Of The King.

He doesn't have a massive amount of background in the books but I've always liked his old and every-man approach to fighting the dangerous Uruk-Hai of Saruman. Despite being advanced in years, he serves dutifully at Helm's Dike and during the Battle Of The Horburg.

I've always liked a bit of an underdog and he seems to be pretty much on the money. It also helps that he comes with some pretty good rules for use in your tabletop wargames.
