So, if you ask me, I’m kind of sick of the whole “Manga vs Comics” debate.
Despite how similar they are as storytelling mediums, for some reason the two are always pitted against each other, with some fans claiming that American comics are “dying” and citing Japanese manga as the cause. And usually this leads to people attacking fans and creators on “the other side.”
And as a fan and a reader of both, I don’t think it’s all that serious, trying to compare them can sometimes be like an “apple to oranges situation.” And I frankly kind of hate the “rivalry” between manga and western comics.
And no this video wasn't just my excuse to talk about One Piece
