I watched Dragon Quest: Your Story the other day. I actually don’t want to do a review of it. Instead, I’d rather talk about how special video games are. There is something in all adaptations, be they book, play, film or video game, that is lost between mediums. It's like a certain kind of magic that, through the process of transferring it to another medium, gets lost because it’s so hard to account for. Because… well, what even IS magic?
