Why Max Payne 3 Failed
Hey everyone, I made a video feature about Max Payne 3. I was really curious about why Max Payne 3 (a great third-person shooter from 2012), failed to make an impact.
Thinking about this made me revisit the older games in the series for a bit of comparison. It was only when I replayed them that I realised just how different Max Payne 3 was the from the previous two games.
In this video I look at the fundamental tones and design philosophies of the three games, as well as via the medium of Sam Lake's face.
It was a ton of fun to make (despite the fact that actually getting Max Payne 1 and 2 to run on Windows 10 is a bit of a nightmare).
