78Learning a variety of music is SOooo helpful in so many different ways.
Each genre/style of music has its technical difficulties one way or another and it's when we combine them all that we truly become a well rounded musician.
Whilst I do believe classical music contains most of what we need, there is still that 10-20% that should be made up of other styles such as jazz, fiddle, modern etc etc.
Regardless of whether you like that style or not, you don't have to suffer it forever - but simply take what you need from it and apply it to the rest of your repertoire/playing.
Your techniques combined will create more scope for quicker improvement and more effortless playing ability... meaning, you will struggle less overall!
