Why PLO KOON'S NIECE Wanted To Be PALPATINE'S APPRENTICE Instead of Anakin - Star Wars
3,581After the call for Order 66 was given to all Clone troopers of the Republic, Anakin Skywalker was sent to the Jedi temple to begin the slaughter of all Jed inside, during Operation: Knightfall, where he shredded through Jedi Masters, Padawans and of course, the younglings. At the moment Anakin and his Clone Troopers began to march on the temple, Plo Koon’s niece, Sha Koon was inside and witnessed Anakin’s destruction. After seeing this, Sha Koon vowed to become Palpatine’s apprentice instead of Anakin, but Why? Lets find out!
The story begins with Plo Koon’s niece in a dark, traumatic flashback, where she fights with her Clone Troopers at the battle of Giju, and is unfortunately losing many of her men. Her mind then violently snaps to another flashback, where she is speaking to her uncle Plo Koon on their homeworld of Dorin, interestingly without his mask.
Her flashback then turns to her uncle’s horrid death in the skies of Cato Neimodia, before again turning to a chilling memory of Anakin’s face, with his Sith eyes glaring deep into her soul.
Sha Koon is being flooded with chaotic memories and emotions, all out of orders.
This again rushes the same memories through her head, but this time she can clearly remember the events and what happens in them. Her memories then begin playing over in her mind once again, this time however in order, from the moment she was brought to the Jedi.
Sha Koon begins speaking to her uncle on their home planet, and she very quickly realizes that because the two of them were so strong in the force, they shared an unusually intense telepathic bond. Without even having to say a word, Sha Koon knew that as soon as Plo arrived at her house, he was there to take her to the Jedi Order for training.
Following this, she remembers her time training with the other younglings at the Jedi temple under master Yoda, before eventually being taken on by an Ithorian Master. During the Stark Hyperspace war, Sha Koon was able to telepathically communicate with her uncle from far across the galaxy, and convey Plo Koon’s thoughts to the Jedi council, saving his life.
Later on, Sha Koon becomes a Jedi Knight herself, where she eventually takes on a padawan of her own, named Baylis Archan. Achan too had a natural affinity for telepathy, so their relationship came naturally and they became great friends over their time training together.
Tragically, as the war raged on, Sha Koon lost her padawan on the planet Giju during the War, along with every single one of her Clone Troopers… filling her with pain and regret for fighting in such a useless battle, in such a pointless war. From this point forward, she vows to never fight in another war for the Jedi Order ever again.
As she remembers this line, she is ripped out of her flashback, to the present, where she is trading blows with Darth Vader swinging her emerald green lightsaber with rage and fury. Between each swing and slash, more memories come back to her, this time, with her uncle Plo approaching her at the Jedi meditation garden
Sha Koon believes that her uncle has only visited her, to ask that she rejoin the war, but surprisingly she is wrong. Plo has come to visit her because he knows that with Count Dooku’s death, the end of the war is only a matter of time.
As Vader continues to strike range and fury into Sha koon in the present, her flashbacks continue flowing. Plo tells his young niece that there is something she can do to contribute to the war, without fighting. Plo then tells her “Count Dooku said as this war started, that someone close to the hierarchy of the Republic is the Sith Lord. I’d like you to scour the Jedi archives--see if you can learn anything that might lead to our hidden enemy.
The librarian even tells Sha Koon that long ago, she knew every piece of information within the Jedi archives, but after Kamino was removed without her knowledge… she no longer has confidence in her abilities.
After this, Jocasta Nu leaves Sha Koon to her research, where she eventually spent days on end, studying, researching and barely sleeping, desperate to find out who the sith Lord named Sidious could truly be.
Tragically, as she is conducting her research, the tragic call of Order 66 is given by Palpatine, and she senses the horrible betrayal and death of her uncle in the skies above Cato Neimoidia. The exact same feeling she felt when her own Padawan met his demise all that time ago.
Sha Koon immediately stood up, absolutely terrified at what she might find, vowing to stop the pain, suffering and screaming coming from around the temple. As she trampled through the halls of the temple, she was absollytey shocked and also confused to see the Clone Trooper’s of Anakin Skywalkers 501st inside. She thinks to herself “Clone Troopers? This deep in the temple? Not permitted… How? Why?
