This is my 4th take. Recorded in Audacity on my AT2020 mic, filmed on my Canon Vixia camera and synched up in Adobe Premiere. No tuning, or video cuts. (Billy Jole has a really powerful voice so his songs are always a bit difficult for me. 'Twas a fun challenge though!)
P.S. Check out my brother's awesome remix of this song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6RzAq2ivc0

And now, the links and credits! *a snore is heard at the back of the room*

HELLO DDR's (Dedicated Description Readers)!
Sorry about the hiatus. I've been working on another "One Guy, 24 Voices" style video and was hoping to have it done by now, but that whole rabid bat thing got in the way...
For those of you who don't know what happened, here's the full story:

I was doing a show in Green Valley, AZ and I found a bat on the ground just before curtain. They're typically hibernating this time of year so, thinking it might be sick, I covered it with a napkin then did my show. When I was done, the bat was still there, so I took him home in a cup and did a mini-exam with a blunt bamboo skewer. He didn't seem to be injured at first, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that the index finger of his left-wing was broken. He was a Western Pipistrelle bat and while they hibernate during the winter, they often forage for food during the day so I figured he must have hit a window at the theater. He was behaving otherwise normally, so I gave him some water and let him climb onto my hand so I could get some pictures. Have a look: https://twitter.com/BlackGryph0n/status/1088713522287005696

The next day, I called Animal Rescue to see if they could help my injured bat. They said they would take him in and see what they could do. Unfortunately, since he had a broken wing, they had to put him down :-( and since I had touched the bat, they decided to test him for Rabies...

He tested positive...

SOOOOOOOOOO, the last few weeks have been fun! I went to the VA in Tucson where I got my first four out of seven shots. 1ML of Rabies Vaccine in my right arm and 10 FREAKING ML of vicious Immunoglobulin in the rest of my limbs! I almost passed out (like a flippen wimp) but that was nothing compared to how sore and wacked out I was the next day. Turns out, my body doesn't like being injected with dead rabies virus and someone else's plasma. I was pretty loopy for a bit, but eventually, it wore off. Just in time for me to go get another shot!! :-D I had my sixth shot in the series two days ago and I'll get my last one next Wednesday. Then, hopefully, I'll be immune to rabies for a while so I can hold as many rabid bats as I want! ;-P (I kid I kid.) Seriously though, the shots weren't fun... They may also be pretty expensive (upwards of $10,000) so I'm HOPING the VA will cover most of it... I guess I'll find out when the bill comes in. I may need to start a GoFundMe... ^^;

Now, I've been getting a LOT of flack for this. :-P People calling me stupid or asking me if I've "learned my lesson" so let me just say right now: I knew the risk when I held the bat. I was willing to take a 1 in 300 chance to help a bat in need and get a cute picture. I drew the short straw this time, but whenever you gamble you run the risk of losing. Most of the things I do for fun involve a bit of risk. I do what I can to mitigate that risk, but you can never guarantee you won't get hurt while doing something that is inherently dangerous. People have been telling me my entire life not to do things because they are "dangerous", or calling me stupid for enjoying things that seem unsafe. It's true, I do tend to enjoy "extreme" sports more than the average individual, but I'm not reckless. I always weigh the benefits against the potential negative outcome and if I feel the reward outweighs the risk, I'll do it. We're all going to die eventually. I could die any day. Is living in fear of the unknown and missing out on incredible experiences worth potentially buying me a few extra years? I don't think it is. That's my decision. You can think I'm crazy, but I'm enjoying my life and if I die one day from getting bitten by a snake or jumping out of an airplane, I won't regret the path I took to get there. :-)

Ok, rant over. I'm gonna sleep now before I die of exhaustion! XP

Goodnight everybatty!

~Gabe
