Super Mario 64 is one of the most praised games of all time, and for good reason, it's impact cannot be overstated and it's an enjoyable game, but I think Sonic's transition to 3D was better.

Sonic Adventure is an amazing game, and while it hasn't aged well, it's got so much personality and the gameplay and level design is so phenomenal that it's still worth playing today.
