Steve Jobs was known for his silver Mercedes Benz, but the fact that it never had a license plate was odd. Steve found a loophole in the California vehicle laws. With a brand-new car, you have a maximum of six months to get the issued number plate to the vehicle, so Jobs made a deal with the leasing company. He could change cars during the sixth month of the lease, exchanging one silver Mercedes SL55 AMG for another identical one. This way he would always drive with no more than 6 months old vehicle.
