Why You DON'T Need a Dual PC Streaming Setup
126Provoked Prawn here with a slightly controversial opinion probably, on why you don't need a dual PC setup. It's my opinion, based on experience, that a two PC setup isn't necessary for streaming. Modern PCs are perfectly capable of both recording and streaming footage at good quality and with good results too. It's also possible to adjust various settings in both OBS and Windows (if you have the right hardware) to result in a different recording to your stream. This means you can record without an overlay and camera and with separate audio tracks, so you can create all sorts of different content with ease.
My experience is that it's possible to do all this with a single PC and without having a negative impact on your FPS performance or the smoothness of gameplay. Obviously this is going to depend heavily on your gaming machine and the spec of it, as well as your broadband and your OBS settings. BUT I've been doing it for years with a number of different PC builds, including lesser specced systems. So I believe it's perfectly plausible to do.
