The Wii was an incredible video game console back when it came out. It brought promises of new ways to play, as well as new ways to purchase various games to play. The Wii Shop Channel brought with it a hope that maybe someday it would be possible to play every single Nintendo game released to that point on just a single console, although ultimately that never actually happened. Nevertheless, the Wii Shop Channel's library games was not too shabby, and provided access to many great games, including many rare titles which could cost one hundreds of dollars if they were to buy the original physical release.

January 30th 2019 marks the day that the Nintendo Wii Shop Channel closes forever, so join me as we take a look through just how innovative and revolutionary it was one last time.
