Wii U Panorama View Kyoto Sight See
4This Wii U Panorama video is converted to be in 360°, processed in YouTube format. You can watch it with a VR headset!
I ripped these from the Wii U Panorama View apps myself
1. Extract the MP4 video and BFSTM audio from the app
2. Use ffmpeg to dump all the frames of the video
3. Use ImageMagick to crop all the frames of the image (making individual images for the front, back, left, right, etc. of an image)
4. Use a Java program to stitch the frames back together: https://github.com/perthcpe23/cube-to-equirectangular
5. Use ffmpeg to merge the frames back into one video, and add the BFSTM audio
6. Run a small Python 2 program to inject metadata into the MP4 file so that YouTube recognizes it as a 360° video: https://github.com/google/spatial-media
7. Then just set the thumbnail, upload, wait a while for YouTube to process the video, and done!
It took a lot of work, time, and processing power to make this happen, but I think that it was worth it
