~~~~~IN MEMORY OF STEPHEN HILLENBURG~~~~~

This is my second ever Mario Paint Composition, and it is of Wilco's "Just A Kid" from The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Soundtrack, and can also be heard on the DVD/Blu-ray menu for the movie.

I had actually begun doing this back in September of 2018, but when I heard the tragic news of Stephen Hillenburg's passing, I was motivated to pick up where I left off here and finish what I started. I learned a whole lot from my first composition of BFBB SpongeBob's House, and I wanted to see how I could improve myself here. I think one of the trickier parts that served as a bit of a learned curve for me was reading the beats, and accompanying them with the percussion sounds, as well as figuring out which would sound best so the rhythm wouldn't sound off. I feel like I had something pretty good going, so I stuck with it!

In the song itself, though, my favorite part has to be the bridge. To me, the bridge, as well as the whole song, perfectly encapsulates the entire theme and feel the movie embodies: the whimsical wonders and memories of youth and being a kid. It never fails to makes me smile and occasionally bring a tear to my eye :').

This video doubles as both a 500th video special and a tribute to the late great Stephen Hillenburg, creator of SpongeBob SquarePants. I can only hope I did this song justice. May he rest in peace, for he has defined generations with the hearts he has touched, including mine, especially ^_^.
