Wilhem Hesch et Arthur Preuss - Entführung aus dem Serail - Viva Bacchus - Gramophone 2-44088 enregistré en 1906
Né le 3 juillet 1860, mort le 4 janvier 1908
« He made his debut at Prague as Plunkett in Martha. During the next ten years he sang in Hamburg before arriving in Vienna. His repertory included Sarastro, the Cardinal in La Juive, Gremin in Eugen Onegin, Kaspar in Freischütz, Figaro, Osmin, Don Alfonso, Sachs, Wotan, Falstaff and principal roles in the operas of Lortzing and Nicolai.
He made guest appearances in most leading German Theatres, but Vienna remained the centre of his activities throughout his career.
Wilhelm Hesch made a great number of records. None is finer than O wie will ich triumpheren from Entfürung. Here is a bass voice as easy at the top as it is at the bottom and even across a wide range, the execution clean and accurate: a voice of first class quality.
