To answer the question in the video... yes, I can!
Almost everything was smooth sailing once I got everything working. OBS is a breeze to work with on macOS, and it feels like saving in MOV instead of MKV then remuxing to MP4 is just a faster experience. We'll see if that creates any other issues later on.
Premiere was the tough spot. As I showed, I don't have a very beefy MBA. This means that lots of times I'm waiting for Premiere to preview the video and show me the edits I'm making. I'd say this is the biggest pain point so far, but doesn't feel like it'll be that big of an issue.
Media Encoder just sped through. A video like this would take awhile on my gaming PC, probably something like 20-30 mins. It took over an hour for the Decemberween 2024 video! This was done in less than 15 mins. I bet if I have less demanding edits, like with the Factorio Let's Play, it'll be pretty quick to render those videos.
Everything said and done, I think this setup works and can only get better. It would be lovely to have something like a MacBook Pro to use in this scenario, but I definitely don't have the money for that yet.
