So I was watching this show on Television where they were showing how robots were replacing a lot of people's jobs across a wide range of industries. It got me to do some research on the subject, but the subject is not completely alien to me at all as I have thought about it many times in the past. Automation in the workplace because of robotics is real and it will keep growing exponentially over time, possibly terminating more jobs that it will create. Society in the future might have to make tough decisions, because once everything can be done by machines more efficiently and error-free than humans, what incentive would companies have in hiring people? Will companies even exist? Who will they sell goods and services to if only a few percentage of the population has a job? Will this bring upon the age of abundance for humans? Could everything someday become free?
