14,830Have you ever wondered if there is a class that teaches people how to be better at playing claw machines?
If so you are in luck! While we were in Japan we found an arcade that offers a claw machine course. The course is broken down into 2 parts: a lecture and then hands-on practice. The lecture portion of the course consists of instructors explaining and demonstrating 12 separate claw machine techniques that can be used to win from various types of claw machine setups. In order to pass the course, participants have to demonstrate that they are capable of completely at least 8 out of the 12 basic claw machine techniques. Oh yeah, participants only have one hour to successfully do that as well! If a participant is successful and completes the course, they are given a certificate of completion!

How much did the course cost?
The course was 5,000 JPY per person. Which is roughly $50.
Why did you not get to keep the prizes you won?
The claw machines we were playing were only used for the course. After winning the prizes, the staff would reset them so other participants could successfully pass that given technique.
Did you have to pay when you were playing the claw machines?
During the one hour hands-on part of the course, participants were allowed to play the test machines as many times as they needed in order to successfully complete a technique.
