My thoughts on Windward:

So the closest game I can compare this game to is Sid Meier's Pirates! It has a similar look and feel, minus the land battles and swordplay. This is really the only area that is a bit of a let down actually... you don't get to run people through with your cutlass. That said, it is a fun sim/rpg/rts hybrid set in the Age of Sail where you (as captain of your own vessel) fight with enemy factions and deal with pesky pirates. It is a solid game, best played with your friends and certainly worth the cost of entry.
