Winning against a counter-team built specifically to beat me
1So the person's brother battled me beforehand, he won due to scarf togekiss air slash flinching the last bit of my team to death so i just said fck it and forfeited. I called him out saying that was cheap and he couldn't beat me with it. Little did i know, he had a brother who was watching the battles and plotting a counter team based on my team. So when i asked him to rematch me without scummy tactics like rng scarf serene grace, uh he used the counter team based off the previous battle. He changed 5 of his pokemon to counter me and kept kiss.
Rillaboom for my gastrodon
Rotom wash for my corviknight
Garchomp for my rotom heat
etc
The previous guy had a team like totally different not a single mon except for togekiss was the same. So now he used this counter team, and still lost.
After this, he proceeded to ask me for a rematch and i'm just like.. honestly if you use a team specifically built to counter me and still couldn't win... i have nothing to learn. I literally outplayed in the beginning, to a point where i threw my mamoswine cuz i had too much momentum. I coulda earthquaked but im like "nah, his rotom wash resists my ice stab and is immune to ground so thats a free switch, imma go for knock off instead." but instead, he stayed in revenge killed my mamoswine so im like lol.. i coulda had a scarf mamo up for the rest of the game.. essentially in the end i had 4 mons.. i coulda had 5 if i didnt throw him maybe... So tell me what could i possible learn from someone like this besides the fact that people will use scummy tactics like team scouting and counter teaming to get a win. Or scarf serene grace with base 30% flinch moves. It's just like, man I'm looking for people who are capable of more than that. I literally just demonstrated how to win against a super stacked counter team and it honestly just feels reassuring about my ability.
