Wipeout™ Sol 2 Single Race 1.49.72
0Sol 2 is a race track located on the man-made Hawaiian island of Makana. It was first introduced in Wipeout Pure, and reappeared in Wipeout HD.
The 4.4km Sol 2 circuit lies suspended a full kilometre above Makana. It's one of the fastest tracks in the games due to its high-speed straights and banked corners, but can get tricky at times, particularly with an long open-sided section. A track that demands respect from even the most skilled pilots.
Daedalus Institute
The centre of anti-gravity research and development the Daedalus Institude marks the start of the Sol 2 track, being an integral part of Sol Platform Alpha.
Talos Sweep
Talos Sweep is the open-sided section of the track. It may look simple to navigate on paper, but can catch out even the most experienced pilots. Be especially careful if racing in a pack.
Perdix Loop
The Perdix Loop is a series of two corners that weave around Sol Platform Beta. It consists of: Perdix Approach, a tight blind right-hander uphill; a short straight infront of the Perdix Gallery viewing platform; and a long downhill right which is Perdix Retreat. The platform also houses the proactors that control the drift and dip of the station.
Condors Swoop
Despite how dreadful it may seem, it's actually not that bad. A good area to get some speed leading into the last few corners on the track.
