I am not sure what type of genre this would fall under, but Within the Blade is a retro looking, ninja game with speed running elements. I didn't like Within the Blade, but I feel the game accomplished what the developers set out to do. At a price tag of under $5, I don't feel bad about the purchase. There is a lot of sprite turning, which is a pet peeve regarding retro style games, as well as a lot of running momentum. The tutorial on how the game controls are confusing as well, and there are many obstacles that will feel impossible to overcome due to this. This isn't my kind of game, but I can tell a lot of work and heart was put into it, so I am going to rate this at a 6/10.

This is to give the viewer an experience of what it is like to spend your hard earned money on a game, just to find out if it sucks, or if it is a hidden gem.
