- Notes -
The idea for this video came about due to my voice still being too weak for voiceover. I noticed the KHWiki had 2 "unused" To Our Surprise tracks listed on the cut content page. (https://www.khwiki.com/Removed_content) One was just the isolated brass, not worth inculding here. The other was an entirely different instrumentation. I couldn't find any additional info on this but I managed to track down the source to these game rips: https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/kingdom-hearts-final-mix-gamerip

It's a strange version, sounds kinda Agrabah-like. The intense part at the end is a bit discordant and not the nicest to listen to but I enjoy the obscurity of this track so I included it. Unlike "Having a Wild Time - Previous Version -" it isn't on the soundtrack, and unlike "This is Halloween - Alternate -" it isn't heard in-game.

Another thing to note is the difference between Coded/Re:Coded. Coded, the original mobile game came out in 2008. I only found the soundtrack for it thanks to KHWaterBlock: https://twitter.com/KHWaterBlock/status/1403892008586989569?s=20&t=4BNB4DkLiHwDlbnipIgHeg

To *my* surprise, the two song versions used in Re:Coded are exactly the same as in Days. Any discrepancy is due to sound quality, the instrumentation is the same. Since those games came out in 2009 (Days) and 2010 (Re:Coded), I expect they created just one instrumentation and used it for both, knowing that Wonderland was present in both games.

HD 1.5's versions are of course orchestrated remakes of the KH1 songs, but they are the most modern versions so it made sense to put them last.

CoM/ReCoM's versions are pretty self-explanatory, the simplistic GBA tune and then the PS2 remake's spin on KH1's original songs.

I decided to only feature game versions of the track, even unused. I don't think the piano collections one counts for this kind of video and frankly I'm not sure about the copyright on that album.

"To Our Surprise" on repeat has certainly made me feel like I'm losing my sanity in Wonderland. Thanks for watching (and reading)
