"WOODKID" 100% by Jakerz | Geometry Dash 2.11
58Woodkid is a level that defies so much about conventional GD that it just warrants attention and respect. If you go have a look at Jakerz's YT channel (link below) you will see that his 6 most popular videos are all Woodkid videos, so that should give you a sense of the level of hype and interest surrounding this level, dating as far back as 4 years ago, even a few days before 2.1 was released.
Everything from the untraditional song, to the unique and fierce decoration style, to the incredible artwork and extremely difficult gameplay (in the original), help cement this masterpiece as one of the greatest levels in GD of all time, up there in status with levels like Bloodlust and God Eater. There is just so much to be in awe at in just about every corner of this level, that I couldn't possibly talk about it all or even begin to think about which part is my favourite. Everything from the animations, to the breaks between sections, combine to help give this level an amazing atmosphere and make Woodkid in my opinion probably the most epic GD level of all time.
While I don't know the full details of why Jakerz decided that this would be an auto level, I do know that the level has been turned over from verifier to verifier for a long time, with the 2 most recent, Alex and Xanii, making some progress near the end of the level, but only making it to 16 and 17%, respectively, playing from zero. I imagine this was targeted at being a top 10 or 20 demon, but I feel like this could have easily been nerfed and kept as a main list demon, and then we would have probably seen it verified in a few weeks or months.
In the end, it was released as an auto, which I'm sure comes as a disappointment to many. I'm kind of on the fence about it. While it does make it easy for everyone to enjoy it, people would probably just go watch the completion video on YouTube anyway. I won't dwell on the what-ifs, I'm just happy that this masterpiece level is finally out on the servers for us to enjoy. I'm sure the game could also use some more epic rated auto levels :)
