The Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge is located in Alexandria, Virginia, and spans the Potomac River to Oxon Hill in Prince George's County, Maryland.

It is only one of eight movable bridges in the US that are part of the US Interstate System (as of this video's post date).

This is the full moving process of the bridge's opening and closing sequence when a tall ship passes under it. Alerts on the highway will begin approximately one hour before a ship is ready to pass under the bridge. The video starts a few moments before the main raising alarms sound off. Traffic has already been stopped by this point.

No adjustments have been done to the audio; The bridge's movements are indeed extremely quiet. Camera was approximately 700 feet away.

Video was adjusted for clarity.

The ship that passed through during this video is the Tall Ship Providence, a recreation of the sloop "Katy", the flagship of the Rhode Island Navy in 1775, afterwards named Providence later that year when it was purchased to serve as one of the first ships of the US Continental Navy. The current Providence was built c. 1973-1975 and later purchased by the Tall Ship Providence Foundations in 2017, restored over two years, and currently operates out of Alexandria for tours, cruises, and private charters.
