This short clip demonstrates a problem I often experience while browsing WordPress blogs. Sometimes I can click a 'like' once, and it takes. Other times, I click it once and a window pops up, following which the 'like' sticks; and sometimes, as in this case, I can click 'like' as many times as I, er, like, and all that happens is I get a never-ending cycle of pop-up windows and non-sticking likes :(

I sought assistance from https://wordpress.com/support/ ... A WordPress Happiness Engineer suggested I clear my cache (on Firefox, that's Alt+SHIFT+Delete); I cleared just the cache, for the last hour, and that cured the problem. Just in case anyone else out there is cursed by the same thing!
