Work in Progress - 87.5 Million, Mushihime-sama Futari v1.5, Original
Still working on stage 3! I revisited Mushihime-sama after acquiring a Seimitsu LS-40, replacing the Sanwa JLF I had put into my SFIV SE Fightstick. It made a world of difference when tap-dodging and altogether control (fun fact, it's also the Japanese NeoGeo cabinet stick). This run also has my personal best in 1.5 Original, my highest stage 2 score, highest gem count for this mode (25k in stage 3) and longest survival on a single life. Hopefully I can 1CC this mode by the end of next year.
Quick MushiFutari guide for game mechanics: A button is shot (hold down for laser, which slows movement...usually), B button for bomb (none seen in this replay), designated "C" button for rapid fire shot (that's how it is in the arcade version). Destroying enemies usually yields amber gems. The gem counter appears under the life stock under the score display. In Original mode, the color of the counter changes every time it hits a multiple of 500, which dictates what type of shot to use on enemies so they can yield large gems when destroyed. Green for shot, blue for laser. Destroying enemies with the wrong shot type will yield small gems, or none at all. Bonus small gems can also appear by destroying big enemies or environmental targets that "cancel" onscreen bullets when destroyed (bullets convert to small gems). By not shooting for a split second or longer, you can "vacuum" airborne gems surrounding you (even some that drifted off-screen). By shooting laser fire, you can vacuum grounded gems left by land enemies. By collecting gems quickly after destroying an enemy, the gems glow green and are worth more value to the gem counter.
