Work in progress: Drakborgen (Dungeonquest) Modular Tileset
Long-term project in its initial stages: Dungeon building kit.
Standard square modular grid structure. Figured I'd base the style on the artwork of the original version of the Swedish 1980's boardgame "Drakborgen" (apparently known as "Dungeonquest" to the British, published by Games Workshop using slightly less metal artwork). I'm going with a somewhat unorthodox design choice - a forced perspective with inwards sloping walls. The idea is that the grid of rooms and corridors is meant to be viewed mainly from above, and at very small scale (a single tile is only something like 3x3cm), so the forced perspective will give you a sense of depth, and allow you to see wall decorations that would otherwise be out of the line of sight.
Completely experimental obviously, and the project may well end up crashing and burning. But at least it'll be fun, and the forced perspective might help distinguish the kit from the gazillion other modular 3d-print terrain sets out there. My ambition is to make the kit compatible with the boardgame, so that you can plonk down 3d tiles instead of the standard 2d cardboard tiles.
