Working on Something New (Read Description)
I have begun work on a new game, I figured I could not let all my energy or resources go to waste. What you are seeing is four days of work, actually 4.5hrs of pure tinkering and coding, using a lot of code from my last project; Ruins of Mounri.
I may have mentioned picking up another project while working on my last game, this is where I have snagged the new camera system that allows you to zoom in and out. I plan for some more technical achievements than what was in my last game, but I will make sure to take my time.
Direction for this game could go anywhere. I have a few ideas in mind, but until I get core systems in place I won't reveal anything. With player movement and some systems I haven't gotten to tweaking from Ruins, like AI and projectiles, I have a good-ish chunk of the core systems/mechanics already in place.
In the future, I plan to have a hunger and sanity system, these will hopefully add some dynamic gameplay elements. I think I will try to make the player feel uneasy when playing the game, it might have a day/night cycle or be just eternally night. I plan to not focus on a story as that is some of what made my last game a chore to work on. This game will be gameplay focused, maybe with a little bit of lore and backstory though...
