Working on the Paper Dummy for Outrun
This was first attempt. I can do better than that. What I learned from this test was the paper dummies have to have far less subdivisions if planar and not a closed mesh. Because its so light, all those beams, its a heck of a hard thing to get right. Less is more in this case. Also will not try to cut of extra mesh and will just do the alpha clip that way each square is a square.
The old Smokey and The bandit is what I am doing for Outrun, But the whole point was to make them eject when in crash, like the old arcade. Buffard T and Junior was more like a large piece of cardboard. It is a jbeam. It is just mounted pretty tight in the car. I shared this a while back if anyone wants it.
And like everything else I see that I made a while back.. I see how I did not do the textures as good as the could be. Mesh planes need some emissive mapping to really show up. Or they will always look to dark.
i have not forget someone still wants the hole in the road, explosion tutorial. Its pushed back a bit but the other one I am also working on later, is the remake to the tidal wave. I have not forgot.. I remember the ones that are most challenging.
Walters Arena... One day, One day my friend. You know who you are :D Likely have to tag team it. It is actually a great map for Norway group to work on if they had time. Being it is the largest track in the milky way galaxy. Should be a great example for them to make.
