WoW: Legion - Secret Cow Level - Diablo's 20th Anniversary- 1080p 60fps - no commentary
Get the special achievement Diablo's 20th Anniversary by learning the Twelve-String Guitar toy dropped by the The Cow King in the Secret Cow Realm:
To get to the secret realm, find a Treasure Goblin. These will spawn outdoors in the Broken Isles, in Legion dungeons of any difficulty, and even in the Dalaran Sewers. Killing it before it finishes casting Escape Portal will open a portal ( Summon Portal to Cow Level) to The Secret Cow Level!
Treasure Goblin has lots of HP so bringing a group is wise to ensure you'll kill it in time.
Once you're in the realm, a special version of the Yorgen Farmstead in Duskwood, you'll encounter many Diabolic Bovine and the Rare Elite The Cow King who drops special items.
You can only get special loot once per day per character, similar to how special loot works from other holiday bosses.
Based on Wowhead staff experiences and Treasure Goblin comments on Reddit, the goblins can be a bit glitchy and evade, and the Cow area can be dangerous for players that got PvP flagged while killing Goblins in the sewers. You can fly in the phased version of Duskwood, which can help you escape from PvP.
Dying in the phased version of Duskwood will phase you out of it completely.
You do not need to be max-level to enter the portal; we were able to enter on level 101 characters; lower-level players in the comments have also reported zoning into the portal. The cow mobs inside the instance had also scaled down to our level.
Unique Cow King Loot
You can only loot The Cow King once per character for a chance at special loot.
Twelve-String Guitar: The Twelve String guitar plays the New Tristram music from D3. It has a cooldown of 66 minutes and 6 seconds as well! Appears to be guaranteed drop.
The Cow King also drops weapons like Livestock Lochaber Axe!
Unique Treasure Goblin Loot
Horadric Satchel: The Horadric Satchel, a 28 slot bag, shares an icon with the Horadric Cube, a D2 item enhancement item.
Event Loot
The following loot can be looted from the Cow King as well as Treasure Goblins. The Goblins are not on a daily reset and can be farmed repeatedly.
Blank Diabolic Tome: The Diabolic Tome may be a reference to the Tomes in which the game lore of D1 and D2 were written in game.
Stalwart's Grand Charm, Large Charm of Dexterity, Large Charm of Strength, Small Charm of Inertia, Small Charm of Life, and Serpent's Grand Charm: These mimic the charms you carried around in Diablo 2 to buff your character, but were not equipped and took up an inventory slot. These are not a consumable; you gain a stat boost by simply having the item in your inventory during the holiday event.
Scroll of Town Portal and Tome of Town Portal: Scroll of Town Portal/Tome of Town Portal are related to the former Teleportation items in D1 and D2, and the Town Portal spell in the Diablo games which return you to your home town., It is a reference also to the Tome in which you kept your Town Portal Scrolls.
To collect the toy version of this portal, you must collect 10 Scroll of Town Portal and combine with Blank Diabolic Tome.
Other Loot
We have datamined the following items but cannot confirm their source yet:
Stone of Jordan: The Stone of Jordan is a reference to the infamous ring of the same name. In Diablo 2, this ring was a type of currency - you could trade several Stones to another player for a higher end item. References to the Stone of Jordan have been around for a long time in WoW: Staff of Jordan, Sash of Jordan, Grand Staff of Jordan. Additionally, the Stone of Jordan is ilvl 66.
