WTF!? 22 Losses to a Normal Liu Kang!!!

READ THE DESCRIPTION!!!:
Let me explain this specific offline encounter to you. I had gotten into a tower challenge ladder hoping to send my friend a good tower challenge. Every match, but the final one against Liu Kang played out like it should. By that I mean the setting was on "Normal" difficulty, and the AI opponents, except for Liu Kang played like a normal AI opponent. When I got to Liu Kang's final place at the top of the challenge ladder I noticed the modifier was bleed. I thought to myself that this was fine, because I've won with the bleed modifier in place many times before, and have never had an issue facing off against Liu Kang.
Unexpectedly though Liu Kang became like a boss battle. He was using the parry variation, and was doing extensive damage outside the norm with his grabs, parry attacks, and windmill special. This coupled with the constantly, and rapidly depleting health for my character as well as his delay in waking only served to make things nearly impossible. You have to understand that this Liu Kang was blocking like a boss, and as he was doing so the health was draining quicker than usual due to the bleed modifier. No matter how many combos I dished out, or how many EX specials I used I wasn't able to win this fight for a total of 22 continues. It was the perfect sh*tstorm.
When I finally did win on the 23rd try I barely won. By that I mean I was a second, and a punch/kick away from losing each round. I don't know what the hell is wrong with MKX's AI/CPU opponent's, but I have noticed an unwarranted spike in intelligence during some tower fights. You can mark this encounter down as yet another problem that is plaguing MKX's less than perfect build.
Also keep in mind I'm an intermediate Erron Black player who has beaten "Hard" difficulty towers with no problem at all.
