Here we see the problem with my slow design of playing the games. The way I take my time and try to set up full bases before moving on, instead of having little satellite outposts. The way I take freaking FOREVER to start upgrading to better aircraft. The aliens have learned where I am, and are avoiding me. I did manage to sack their their base (and they appear to have built another in Australia), but only managed two other places to fight. One shot down ship, one I've landed at and will be raiding tomorrow.

At least I got some research going, and that time spent looking for craft has given me time to finally build a Firestorm, and progress the story mission. Now I need to raid bases, and steal commanders. Unfortunately, I WANTED to take a commander from the last base... but there weren't any. At least, not that I saw. The command room was empty.
