This is the second phase of the Battle of Endor as portrayed in X-Wing Alliance, subtitled "That Thing's Operational." The Death Star has destroyed the Liberty (and presumably the Otana with it). To gain cover, we are closing with the Imperial fleet to make the Death Star unwilling to shoot. While there we will attempt to take out the Executor, to remove its firepower from the equation.


This is where events (apart from "Ace" Azzameen piloting the Falcon) really start to diverge from canon. Of course, by the time the Executor was destroyed in the film, the Death Star's shield was already down and the Falcon was inside the station.
