Xbox Wants The Next Fallout Game To Release Sooner
292Nice to see Xbox coming to the conclusion that everyone else came to years and years too late (getting another studio to work on Fallout).
This could have been very positive news, if it had of been announced 3-4 years ago when Microsoft actually bough Bethesda. The moment that happened, they should have been well aware that Bethesda’s roadmap meant we could go something like 15 years between mainline Fallout games.
Instead of pulling their finger out and putting together a Fallout team, it seems Xbox have sat on their hands about it and only the disaster that was Starfield has made them realise Bethesda may actually have no idea what they’re doing.
Because of how long game development cycles are now, by the time anything formal happens, I doubt we’re going to see a new Fallout game until 2030 at the earliest. The only positive is it could mean we get a Fallout Spinoff in 2030, and a Bethesda one in 2031 for instance, so that there’s no more insane waits, but even typing out any year that ends in 30/31 causes me to a double take and realise just how badly Bethesda & Xbox have squandered this beloved IP.
Hopefully Xbox have also got a great team working on a Starfield 2 so we don’t have to wait too long for that much anticipated follow up…
