9th of July, 2015:
The soldiers were quick to ready themselves when the news got to them that Evelynn was ready for rescue. Given our previous confrontations with EXALT, I chose to send a mix of experienced and newer operatives on this mission. EXALT had not proven to be a threat previously, and with Evelynn and Leilith in the fight, I expected it would go our way with little effort.

... that appears to have been a mistake. In my desire to allow our newer soldiers to develop their skills in a safe environment, I neglected to consider that EXALT have not been idle this whole time. It appears that not only have their weapons programs advanced, but so too has their genetic manipulation program.

I don't fully understand the... 'abilities' of these new EXALT soldiers, but it's clear their genetic enhancements have made them far, far more dangerous, and survivable in the field.

Of course, I have confidence in the abilities of my troops, but I can't help the feeling I have placed them in great danger due to that same confidence.
