XCom2 got a launcher update last year that makes it impossible to run mods. I also just got a 2k launcher update just as I uploaded this. Regardless you need to run the old launcher using the method I showed in the video. I have heard that the game no longer comes with the original launcher files but anyone who downloaded it on steam before this change should still have them.

After the shortcut path remember to add: -noRedScreens -review

Also doing a heavily modded XCom 2 stream series starting this Tuesday (June 1, 2021 at 5pm cst on twitch and youtube). If you have any problems I am sorry I cannot address them but the tutorial should be a fix to most problems relating to the 2k launcher release.
