So this is going to be a very long description, so I apologize in advance. Please read though if you want to know more about this.

Timestamps for things of note:
0:00 - Battle Start/Phase 1
5:33 - Crazed/Phase 2
9:12 - Awakening/Phase 3
16:02 - Victory/Build

As far as I know, this is the first time anyone has successfully done this with video. If I'm wrong, let me know and provide their video and I'll be more than happy to correct myself. I spent about 1.5 hours on attempts of this fight, which came out to 7 attempts, only 4 making it to the crazed aura phase or later.

Next, I have to shout out Abarax for his proof of concept video. Even though he didn't technically kill Abaasy, I still consider him to be the first to have done this. I also have to give credit to everyone in the original gamefaqs thread for this. Links to both the thread and Abarax's video will be at the bottom of the description.

While my party is inspired by the one Abarax used, the builds (skill trees/links, arts, gear) are all my own design. If you want to see what he was running, check out his video.

The rest of the description will be a brief description on how the party works, and advice I have to anyone who wants to try this themselves (which I do not recommend).

For how the fight works without watching the whole thing, you can get the gist of it from watching a minute or two. Cure Round is the main way of surviving Abaasy's spike, though it also won't kill you during Chain Attacks. Topple/aura seal should also turn off his spike, but those aren't really consistent ways of dealing with it in my opinion.

I chose to use this party over a physical party because Melia + Riki have better chain attack synergy with Sharla than any physical party could, and Sharla's basically required for this without a janky cheese strat. Topple locking is mostly non-viable without Topple Plus gems due to Abaasy halving topple duration. Finally, Melia's Mind Blast is incredibly useful for removing the Crazed and Awakened auras off of Abaasy when he activates them.

For specific strategy, I'm not running Riki is Angry because in my experience Sharla usually has the aggro anyways, and Hero Time provides more to me than occasionally spiking off of Demon Purging Flame or Ultra Tail Strike. Next to discuss is Summon Flare on Melia; the basic reason for why I'm running this is that there really isn't anything else for me to put in that slot, and at least this gives me more options for DoT and gives her a higher chance of having more elementals ready when I want to chain attack. Finally, Heal Counter on Sharla is mostly just there as a filler art; it provides passive healing over time, and neither Heal Blast or any of her offensive arts would have been more useful there.

For strategy within the fight, I found it important to use "Come to me" before a Ultra Tail Strike lands. If you don't and it topples, your allies will continue attacking when they get up from topple even if you spam "Come to me" while toppled and while getting up, and often kill themselves on the spike (usually at least one will, but sometimes they'll miss or use a support art). It's also worth mentioning that after reviving a party member, Sharla will auto-attack before being able to use any arts (at least as far as I could tell), meaning you won't be able to use arts for a bit after reviving someone. Next, I found starting chain attacks with Cure Round into Summon (any that's useful) into Happy Happy greatly increased consistency as protection against missing QTE or not getting many chain links. Finally, if you're smarter than me, you can check what summons Melia has up before starting a chain attack so you don't summon one she already has. This helps her get more DoT going during longer chains, and can really make a difference in how quickly you can end the fight.

For skills, I'm not going to go into specifics because that would take way too long, but I generally prioritized chain attack links, defense, and damage in that order. Getting good chain attacks was important to me for making sure the fight didn't drag on way too long, damage is the same, and defense is of course important for making sure I can stay alive.

I think that's about all I have to say. Sorry about the really long description, but I hope it was informative to anyone who was interested. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to clarify. Thanks for watching and thanks for reading.
