Recap: As Citan leads Fei and Elly through Krelian's laboratory, Elly becomes suspicious about how much he knows and how easily he's able to get around though the lab's security. She questions him about who he truly is. Citan remains silent, until suddenly the lights go out, and Citan and Elly disappear, leaving Fei all alone.

While looking for where they went, Fei stumbles into a device that ensnares him. Screens turn on, showing him Citan standing at the side of the Solaris elder council. They name Citan as one of the Solaris Guardian Angels, Hyuga Ricdeau. They explain that Citan had been acting on Cain's orders and watching over Fei the entire time, guiding him to Solaris so that they can use the Animus energy in him and his friends for their resurrection. Their ultimate goal is to resurrect god and leave the planet to seek their paradise.

Meanwhile, Elly has been captured by Krelian, and is strapped to a machine while he runs experiments on her. Krelian monologues about advances in nanotechnology and molecular engineering now made possible by his study of Emeralda. With Fei securely captured, Citan enters his room and riles him up. The lights go out, and Fei loses consciousness.

Some time later, Fei finds himself suddenly released from captivity, with Bart, Billy, and Citan in the room. Billy and Bart do their best to convince Fei that Citan is still on their side, and had misled Krelian and the elder council for the purpose of bringing them all to the lab to remove their limiters entirely, being the only location where that was possible. In Shevat, Gaspar had only tinkered with the Limiters to restore some of their power. While undercover, Citan had made a strange discovery: Elly had never had a Limiter implanted in her, and he's not sure why.

However, more pressing matters require their attention. Citan leaves to destroy the final gate generator inside Solaris, while Fei, Bart, and Billy break Elly out of Krelian's private lab. The entire group gathers together, also including Elly's parents, and works on finding a way to escape the city.
