Recap: Bart stealthily picks his way through the castle toward the room where Margie is being held, while Fei continues to fight in the martial arts tournament. He reaches the final bout with Wiseman, the masked combatant who knew his real name. Wiseman simply evades all of his attacks and doesn't fight back at all. Wiseman appears to be studying Fei's technique with some interest. He drops enough hints for Fei to suspect that he's the masked man who carried an injured Fei to Lahan 3 years ago. Wiseman seems to suddenly be in a hurry to leave for some reason, and Fei wins the tournament by default, left as unsatisfied as the crowd who was expecting a real fight.

Bart managed to reach Margie, who is quite happy to see him. She takes a stuffed animal she was fond of with her as they make for the exit. Unfortunately, Ramsus and Miang happen upon them just then, and Bart fights for his life against the Gebler commander. Fei saves the day by somehow busting into the castle just in time, turning the tide of battle in Bart's favor. Just as Wiseman had done, Ramsus seems to recognize something special in Fei's combat technique. Taking an opportunity, Bart, Fei, and Margie flee through a nearby elevator while Ramsus is distracted.

The three end up in the hangar of Gebler's aerial battleship, and while being chased by guards, they bump into Elly in a side room. Fei tries to convince Bart that she's not an enemy, but he recognizes her Gebler officer uniform and stays on guard. After a short discussion, Elly leads to the gear hangar and gives them a startup code that they can use to escape stealthily in one of the gears. Fei tries to convince Elly to come with them, but she refuses. Fei, Bart, and Margie quickly slip out before getting caught.

Back on the Yggdrasil, Margie reuinites with Bart's crew. She reveals that she had gone to Bledavik on a rumor that the Nisan sect's sisters who were captured by Aveh were still alive. However, after getting captured, she learned that her mother and grandmother had already been executed. They set off toward Nisan, and on the way, learn that the stuffed animal she took from her room is actually a living creature who can talk. As Chu-Chu introduces herself, she claims to be in love with Fei, and just wants to remain near him.

Somewhere on the way to Nisan, Citan somehow reappears, having been missing since the tournament. Fei and Bart overhear a conversation between him and Sigurd, where they learn that the two of them had been in an academy together with Ramsus and Miang, where they were known as the 'Elements'. Fei and Bart can't make sense of the rest of the conversation, and aren't sure when or how Citan returned to the Yggdrasil.

Bart is greeted by the Nisan residents as he arrives. They relay that war tensions have been increasing, and some of the town's residents have begun taking refuge in the mountains north of town. The group escorts Margie to the cathedral, where she has a happy reunion with the sisters she'd been away from for so long. After the sisters go back to their business, Margie takes the party upstairs in the cathedral, where she shows them 500-year-old painting of Mother Sophia, founder of the Nisan religion, normally not viewable by the public. Citan notes that the brush strokes are uncannily similar to Fei's work, and Fei notices that the woman bears a striking resemblance to Elly. Margie suggests they speak to sister Agnes to see if she knows any more about the history of the painting before they leave.
