This also works on the English version. I reloaded the save afterward to show that I did not beat Cathedral before showing off the glitch.
Instructions:
Take the block right after the save point to the area with the big block. Don't cross the bridge. Move forward a little then turn back around to bring up the prompt again. Hit no, and then cross the bridge.
This glitch was found by a Japanese speedrunner, who's notes I found and am learning from.
