Hello everyone.
In the next 3 videos I will be showing you the Yamaha DSR-2000 keyboard released in 1987.
I have got this keyboard back in June 2019 for a really good price on the local Friday ad, it came with quite a few accessories too including a couple of manuals, an expression pedal, a foot pedal, a stand which I no longer have as I have included it with a keyboard I sold back then, and lastly it came with a hard carry case so I got quite a good bargain!
The DSR-2000 sounds to me like it's a home variant to the DX7, some of the sounds are similar especially the Bass, E.Piano and Bell sounds as I believe this keyboard has a 4 operator FM Synthesis, I know the DX7 has a 6 operator FM Synthesis but the DSR-2000 is not far off almost sounding like a DX7.
There were altogether 3 keyboards in the range, the bottom of the line is the DSR-500, the middle of the line is the DSR-1000 and the top of the line is the DSR-2000 as shown on this video.
It is very unusual to me that Yamaha have released 3 keyboards with the name 'DSR' and not 'PSR', I know that Yamaha have made many PSR and PSS keyboards back in the 80s, but I never had thought that they would release a few keyboards under the name of DSR, my guess is that Yamaha have released those keyboards with the name DSR instead of PSR to celebrate it's 100th year as Yamaha has been founded in 1887 in Japan and the DSR keyboards was released in 1987 100 years later, correct me if I am wrong, but thats is my guess to why Yamaha released 3 keyboards under the name of DSR.
On this video, I'll be doing a tutorial of the Yamaha DSR-2000 going through the functions & features and showing you how to use the different functions & features so you can get to know how to use the DSR-2000 if you have this keyboard or are thinking of getting yourself one.

Enjoy!
