Hello everyone.
In the next 14 videos, I will be showing you everything on the Yamaha PSR-740 keyboard released in 1999.
I know that some of you have requested that I do videos of this keyboard, and now they have all finally been done!
I have bought this keyboard back in September 2020, I found it from another music shop in which I have contacted them over the phone to buy it, and it was delivered to me a couple of days later.
Heres a little story of when I saw a PSR-740, back in 2003 when Bonners had their old shop at Grove Road in Eastbourne, I decided to save up for another keyboard with some of the birthday money that I had back when I just turned 15, there was a PSR-740 in which I have decided to save up for, but a few weeks later, it has been sold, so I decided to go even bigger knowing that it would take me longer to save up, and decided to save up for the Yamaha PSR-9000, I have been saving up for 8 months, and back in December 2003, I managed to get the money to finally buy the PSR-9000, I took it home and was very happy that I have finally got my very first high end keyboard, the PSR-9000 was replaced back in 2002 with the back then flagship original Tyros so the PSR-9000 was a lot cheaper than it would have been if it was new, but at least now after many years, I have found myself a PSR-740.
There was another keyboard which was a model down from this one called the PSR-640, they both look very identical with some changes since the PSR-640 doesnt have as many buttons, and the front casing where the buttons and 2 screens are is a brown like colour whereas the PSR-740 to me is some sort of champagne colour, the PSR-640 doesnt have as many features as the PSR-740 such as 3 DSP blocks for the voices, multi effect, vocal harmony, it doesnt have as many sounds as the PSR-740 and there are other functions and features that the PSR-740 has in which the PSR-640 does not have.
Todays equivalent of the PSR-640 and PSR-740 would be the current PSR-SX700 and PSR-SX900.
On this video, I'll be doing a tutorial of the Yamaha PSR-740 going through the functions & features and showing you how to use the different functions & features so you can get to know how to use the PSR-740 if you have this keyboard or are thinking of getting yourself one, this tutorial video will be showing just some of the basic functions on the PSR-740, I will be showing the more advanced functions such as style creator, song recording, vocal harmony etc on the next tutorial video that will be uploaded tomorrow.

Enjoy!
